Never one to back down from a good challenge, my friend Crystal (a wardrobe stylist) wanted to put together a photo shoot using only items found at local thrift stores. A few weeks later, we were frolicking around the streets of Downtown Los Angeles. Although there was none of my beloved snow and fog, it was a nice change of scenery. Here are a few of our favorites from that afternoon.

One of my favorite local wardrobe designers, Deborah Lindquist, had some wonderful pieces we thought would work quite well in a desert setting. So early on a Saturday morning Ekaterina Aleksandrovna (model), Karen Bates-Ashley (HMUA) and I took a trip to Lucerne Valley Dry Lake. I love the Lucerne Valley area because it’s full of harsh desertscapes as well as abandoned houses. Here are a few of our favorites from that windy morning.
Although snowy mountains are more my bae, I do love a good desert adventure too! Here a few more from the area, minus Ekaterina posing.
