Astraia and Some Morning Fog

This may not come as great shock to some of you: I love fog. I love driving it, walking in, photographing in it, and just generally existing in it.  I’m also learning to love sunny desert scenes, but this post is about fog. Fortunately, Astraia Esprit also loves fog. So naturally, we planned to link up and go look for some fog in one of my favorite mountain/forest locations.

One minor problem: on the morning we drove out to shoot at my usual forest area, and on the way out there, I could tell there was no fog.  None. Just bright sunny blue skies.  This was weird because all of my weather sources (or, as I like to call them, my fog dealers) said there would be fog. Well, by some massive stroke of luck, we happen to look back south and noticed some forming clouds in the opposite direction. So … we abandoned the forest agenda, flipped a U-turn and hauled ass (not really, I drive like a grandma) towards the growing clouds (and a few locations that were new to me). I’m glad we did.

Here are a few of our favorites from the foggy, but almost not foggy morning.

And because I also love humanless landscape photos, shoutout to this gorgeous dock.
